Modifying the Map and assets in the Reservation calendar
Understanding how the Map and Reservations are linked.
The rows displayed in the Reservations calendar are directly linked to the items in your Map.
If you have 10 glamping units on your Map, you will see 10 rows in your Reservations calendar.
As for camping, Outdore displays a row in your calendar for each shape on your Map. We condense shapes with more than one bookable unit into a single row.
E.g You have 20 pitches, 10 of those are drawn individually with a single bookable asset. Whilst the other 10 are situated in a grassy field and represented with a shape around the field boundary. Despite having 20 pitches, the Reservations calendar will display 11 rows, one for each shape.
Splitting camping pitches
Following a save, changes to the Map are published immediately, therefore if you have lots of changes to make, we recommend suspending your site before proceeding. Suspending prevents accepting bookings but honors all existing ones. Once your edits are complete, you can activate your site with immediate effect. Suspending and activating your site can be done from the Home screen by clicking the 3 horizontal dots next to your listing.
- If you need to split a shape with more than one bookable asset, first edit your Map by moving the corners of the shape to the desired positions and add your new shapes.
- Complete the Map table for the new shapes.
- Before reducing the number of bookable units of the original shape, you will need to reallocate future bookings and blocks off the old shape and onto the new shapes.
- The new camping unit(s) will now be displayed in your Reservation calendar. Reallocate bookings from the shape you are ‘splitting’ to the new camping unit(s) created in the Map. You will need to reallocate enough bookings and blocks to create availability for each night into the future before moving on. See the example below to understand why.
- Return to the Map, and you will now be able to reduce the number of bookable units for the shape which you have ‘split’.
e.g You are reducing a shape with 10 bookable units to 5 bookable units and you’ve already drawn an additional 5 individual pitches. Now in the Reservation calendar, we need to reallocate all future bookings and blocks to the new pitches so a maximum of 5 bookings/blocks exist across all future nights. Now we can reduce the shape with 10 bookable units still shown in the map to be reduced to 5 bookable units.
Merging camping pitches
Following a save, changes to the Map are published immediately, therefore if you have lots of changes to make, we recommend suspending your site before proceeding. Suspending prevents accepting bookings but honors all existing ones. Once your edits are complete, you can activate your site with immediate effect. Suspending and activating your site can be done from the Home screen by clicking the 3 vertical dots next to your site.
- The first step is to increase the number of bookable assets for one of the 2 shapes in your Map. This creates the room required to reallocate bookings from the undesired shape to the other before deleting the undesired shape.
- Once the bookable assets are increased, navigate to the Reservations calendar.
- Reallocate all future bookings on the undesired shape to the shape which has the increased number of bookable assets.
- Return to the Map and delete the undesired shape.
- Edit the merged shape to the correct shape by clicking the shape to highlight it, then drag the nodes/corners to the correct places.
